The first Battalion B&B had fought against odds before, but seldom so long as those. Still they had won, and Task Force had succeeded, and Britain's South American allies were once again free; but the battalion had paid a terrible price, and the survivors were bitter. Someone had blundered, and the soliders and their families knew who. Yet few others seemed to want to know -even when accounts were settled with a shotgun in the night.
