New Moon

Recently retired Detective Hal Halverson and his wife Shirley, a recently retired high school English teacher, are out to see more of the world. They have purchased a small, used travel trailer and are headed south, away from the cold damp weather of Washington State when, at a rest stop in the Red Wood forest of Northern California, they find an empty car with the motor still running. Tracing the license, Hal discovers the car is registered to someone he knows. While helping to find the missing driver they encounter kidnapping, drug dealing and murder in a small city that has one of the highest crime rates in the United States.
