Night Herons
Night Herons is set in the Dallas and East Texas area during the late 1970's through late 1990's. The name is taken from an old Indian legend about an aging chief and his very young bride. Night Herons is a dark story playing on the fragile mind of Jolene Hayes and her involvement with an older man connected to the Mafia. The story follows her life from the first meeting with Ace Sturgeon until his death some twenty-five years later. Jolene is plagued with horrendous nightmares and drug and alcohol abuse as she struggles to escape her link to the Mafia.
