The Eldest

Stephen K. Smith

A wave of gruesome murders in a small, sleepy Rhode Island beach town…

A third-year legal associate has been grisly murdered, and the remains dumped in a local pond. Several weeks later, a graduate student is found mutilated in her off-campus apartment.

Chief of Detectives Darcy Dawson and her squad have tracked down every lead, but so far, to no avail.

Enter Declan Connelly, a recently ‘retired’ spook from the Office of Clandestine Affairs recovering from a bomb blast sustained during his last official assignment for the OCA.

Darcy convinces Declan to put his convalescence aside and join the investigation. Together, they discover the horrific motive behind the killings and must move fast before the killer strikes again.

The Eldest is the debut novel of Stephen K. Smith. He lives with his wife Kathy and their pet Sheepadoodle, Izzy. They winter seven months of the year in Naples, Florida with the balance of the year spent in Cheshire, Connecticut.

He is currently working on a second Declan Connelly novel.
