Powerless

Supernatural beings. Creatures from a storybook. Creatures the books never dreamed of... Jessica LaTista can't believe it at first, but when she notices her best friend, Alicea, turning into... something inhuman... she is forced to believe. And while she tags along on Alicea's adventure (oh, surprise, now that her best friend's magical she has to save the world), Jessica is on a journey of her own. A journey where she learns how it feels to be the sidekick, to always play second fiddle. Where she learns that, no matter what, everybody has a purpose - be it to save the world or to destroy it. A journey where she learns what it really means to be human.
