Le peintre Pablo souffre d'un blocage artistique à la veille d'une exposition. Il part à la campagne et s'endort après avoir commencé la peinture d'un paysage. Pendant son sommeil, un mouton, un écureuil, un oiseau, un sanglier, des abeilles et un loup lui apparaissent en rêve et chacun lui montre comment améliorer son tableau. A son réveil, il achève la toile qui sera le clou de l'exposition.
