This Man's Choices
When Royce Kallas introduces his fiancée Tamra to his overbearing father Reginald, the best Royce can hope for is that Tamra will keep her clothes on. Reginald is opposed to the match because he believes Tamra, not one of his people, is at best an actress wannabe and a gold digger. Royce believes every word from his father’s mouth is written on a tablet or uttered from a burning bush, but in his heart he believes his father is wrong about Tamra. Reginald demands that Tamra sign a prenuptial agreement. She resists. Forty-year-old Royce wants to get married and have a family, and twenty-year-old Tamra has the keys to the baby maker. He believes she will create a happy home for him. Or is it the sex? She thinks he can give her the moon and transportation to get there. They live in mutually exclusive bubbles. Years later Haitian baby nurse Nichol becomes the recipient of the perks of caring for Royce’s children–-the cars, planes, exotic vacations–-and she begins to question her own beliefs. He loves her commitment to his family. And to him. A tragic event forces Royce to make a choice: wild, seductive Tamra or generous, loving Nichol.
