First Thing We Do
Someone is killing defense lawyers who represent drug dealers, rapists, pedophiles and murderers. Detectives Fine and Costa are working the case, trying to piece together whatever can be found to locate the killer. As much as they want to find the person responsible for the deaths of these lawyers, they see these representatives of the legal system as bottom-feeders; attorneys who manipulate the law and allow the guilty to go free to cause more pain and destruction. As more of these lawyers are killed, Fine and Costa follow a serpentine trail of evidence, all leading to its most logical conclusion: this is the work of a serial killer. Then Detective Fines childhood friend, public defender, Eric Price, is murdered. Now its personal and nothing will stand in Fines way to catch the killer. This book is the prequel to Gibbs' Reflection from the Abyss.
