Heartsworn: A Gargoyle Monster Romance

"June Parkhurst is a powerful empath. Yet, her gift doesn't feel like a present; more like a curse, one that's driven successive generations of the women in her family mad. Determined to live a moderately normal life, June has isolated herself on her family estate, sticking to what she loves most: statues. They are a beautiful, contained, and manageable sampling of the human experience. June's loved statues all her life, inspired by the gothic masterpiece that stands in the estate's rose garden. He's known her all her life. The color of her hair, the sound of her voice. Every wish and whim. Alaric was the centerpiece of her rose garden. For fifteen-hundred years, Alaric has despaired. Cursed into a stone state by the cruel fae queen, Alaric and all his people have watched the centuries pass them by. He hangs on their fleeting moments together, wishing she could somehow free him from his prison. For as she grows older, Alaric knows exactly who June is-heartsong. It's that statue that finally gets June out into the world, for a mysterious new museum with enigmatic owners has just opened, full of statues just like hers. June isn't prepared for how...alive the statues at the museum feel. Armed thieves and tear gas are nothing compared to watching one of the statues come to life-and make off with a docent. As she watches them fly away, June has to wonder if she's gone mad like the rest of her family...or, could her statue come alive, too?"-- Provided by publisher.
