The Graveyard Shift

Louise Smith

Malakai's dad, Leonard, loves second world war memorabilia and often visits antique shops. The problem is, he lost his job and the family savings are running out. A chance visit to an antique shop lands him a dream job in a war museum. Malakai goes with him on the night shift and witnesses the war first-hand as he becomes an evacuee. Kaycie Myers and her stepbrother, Richie, don't get along. They are both competitive, especially when it comes to swimming. Kaycie's a double amputee and tries out for the Paralympics and Richie tries out for the Olympics. It's good news for Kaycie but Richie gets mad at her when he doesn't win a spot. Their love for swimming turns into a nightmare when they go swimming in an abandoned swimming pool at Sea Ridge Boarding School. Cleo goes to stay with relatives she's never met when her parents go to the Borneo Rainforest. Cleo and her cousin, Tommi-Lynn are so different from each other. Tommi-Lynn is smart, hardworking and volunteers at the local police station. Cleo is lazy and loves her fashion and social life. A school trip to an old police museum sees the two girls in trouble.
