Crimson Secrets - The Crimson Series 9

Time to woman up... Three years ago, a furious Victoria MacPhee rejected her fated mate. She needs to remedy this cock up, now, and prove she is not the spoiled, shrewish princess he called her. First, she must sell her beloved art gallery, leaving Montreal behind. On her last night, a crate is delivered to the empty gallery and shots are fired at Victoria. Inside the crate is the body of a young girl. As Victoria leaves Montreal, gunmen fire at her, wounding her, and crashing her car on the Champlain Bridge. To survive, Victoria falls from the bridge into the Saint Lawrence River. Declan Kincade, while human, believes he is Victoria's mate. Her rejection led him to quit his job with Daemon Securities and ignore his Dhampir colleagues. When her brother calls him to assist with finding Victoria, Declan cannot refuse. He finds a grievously injured Victoria. Driven by pain and blood loss, she bites and nearly drains him. Awake, Declan finds Victoria curled up next to him. Uncertain, but wanting another chance, Declan agrees to give her three days to prove she is more than a high-maintenance diva. Their trial reunion is interrupted when two local teenage girls go missing and they realize a trafficking ring is operating in the area. Calling for reinforcements, Declan and Victoria go on the offensive to rescue the girls. Will their efforts bring the girls home safely? Can Victoria finally convince Declan she is ready to commit to their relationship and give him the family he has always wanted?
