The Dawn Queen
"A Formal Wedding. Dragon families. An unexpected visitor. There’s no list of instructions on how to create a country. Now King and Queen of a group of peoples made up of mostly werewolves and minotaurs, Roxana and Phillipe return to their unnamed castle on the far western edge of what had once been Suenador and Dorecote. While they are content to ‘rule’ the area they can see from their castle, royal magic is working to gather the people and the lands around them to restore the old kingdom in the unclaimed lands as the betrothal contract so long ago required. During the formal wedding, a young woman named Maella shows up, claiming to be of the Rosemary; the adopted tribe of Roxana and practitioners of soul magic. Centuries of neglect have created magical problems in the unclaimed lands outside the magical dead zone. With Maella’s help, Roxana thinks she can handle the corrupted witches and wizards, and Roxana wants to check up on her adopted people. Phillipe agrees to take on the corrupted animals and bandits. Before he can get started, King Louis of Laiterria arrives with his daughter in tow to hopefully marry Phillipe. Phillipe has to fend off her father’s desires, and his father’s anger as he deals with too large beasts and a Robber Baron. Not everyone is telling the truth. Will Roxana’s and Phillipe’s version of diplomacy be enough to keep the people together? Or will this division of labor be enough to divide them?" -- Back cover.
