White Roses
Twenty years ago Toni Napolitano's sister, Angel, was murdered in Tabor Heights. With little evidence, her killer was never found and the wounded family fled the town. Now an investigative reporter, Toni returns to Tabor Heights on a mission - to help identify the White Rose Killer, a man who stalks young, dark-haired women, leaving twisted, threatening "love notes" and white roses...just like they found after Angel died. To Toni, the similarities between what happened back then and what was happening now are glaring. The connection does not escape Curt Mehdlang's notice, either. It's not just his instincts as a reporter at the Tabor Picayune. Curt has a personal stake of his own in the case since, all those years ago, he was the one to find Angel's body. Curt immediately recognizes the danger Toni is in but even after pointing out the similarities in looks between the victims - similarities that Toni shares - she refuses to be dissuaded and Curt reluctantly partners with her at the newspaper to find the killer before he strikes again. To protect her, they pretend to have a relationship -- one that slowly becomes real. Their hunt becomes a race against time: find the White Rose Killer -- and possibly love -- before he targets them.
