Breathing Deep
"LaRizzio assumes the voices of such great transcendentalist writers as Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau, and he proves to be an able naturalist and philosopher himself...A finely introspective work for the lovers of nature."
Kirkus review of Silhouettes and Seasons Described within these pages are moments of intimate exposure and soulful intention; of uninhibited clarity and clear-eyed reflection. Thoughts formed with focused concentration posing questions for answers for this life that we have yet to soulfully imagine. All are posed Dispersed throughout the book are images of nature, inviting you to immerse yourself in the magical moments of nature's beauty; to stretch your powers of observation with the balm of beauty and its truth, the only sought result. An engineer by education and profession, the author is a graduate of Penn State University and a former project engineer, engineering manager, and director of engineering for a major US corporation. After thirty-five years, he left the corporate world in pursuit of other lives that he believed were waiting to be lived. Writing and nature photography are preeminent among the paths the author has chosen. All the images included in this text were selected from his work. His previous publishing efforts include Hey, Milkman! and Silhouettes and Seasons (the first in a chronological series tracing the author's on going evolution of soul and sense and self.) with deep intention, seeking awareness at a depth we seldom recognize within ourselves. All propose the need for breathing deep to reach our soul's immutable foundations of the heart and of the mind.
Enclosed you will find descriptions of ephemeral moments given life beyond their allotted increment of time. Time stretched beyond its temporal limits by the profound immersion of the senses and the mind.
