The 'N' Factor
In 'The Twenty-Fourth Chromosome', we learned about the possible aberration of Chromosome 11. This imperfection is often referred to as the 'N' factor, attributable to improper breeding of Homo-Sapien-sapiens with the indigenous tribes of Earth, later known as the 'Neanderthal Man'; thus named because of the early scientific discovery of skeletal remains of this species in the Neander valley of Germany. In the human genome, Chromosome 11 has to do with social refinement and personality. An aberration of this Chromosome is likely to produce a socially undesirable person. Such individuals would be capable of many social ills, depending on the environment in which the individual acquired learning; such manifestations as megalomania at one end of the spectrum to a simple social misfit abhorring all normalcy at the other end. This DNA breeds psychopaths, serial killers, dictators, and those who consider their own greed and quest for power above the rights of humanity. The likes of Hitler, Jack the Ripper, Ted Bundy, Sadam Hussein and many others were undoubtedly afflicted with this aberration. Remember, all humans are generally expressed by codes that are ninety-nine point nine percent the same. Keeping in mind that the human gene sequence is a line three billion characters long, made up of the four letter biological alphabet, organized in three letter 'code words', individuality requires only a zero point one percent difference.' Ideally, Chromosome 11 contains T-A-C sequences in even numbers. Odd number sequences are likely to manifest aberrant behavior. The 'Restoration of the Species' project was geared at finding suitable DNA to supersede the mutant DNA strains on the planet Altera through the use of 'Synthetic Recombination' or gene splicing with healthy embryos and Earthling DNA. The testing equipment and methods devised for this project also had the capability of scrutiny of aberrations of Chromosome 11. This novel explores the many questions and concerns' regarding an individual's right to privacy with respect to testing of his DNA and the social and moral questions regarding cleansing our species of this aberration. Controversy still rages between the proponents of Evolutionary Theory versus proponents of Intelligent Design. School boards across the United States are making decisions regarding what is taught in their schools. Most confuse Intelligent Design with Creationism, which is supported by most religions. Our doctrine of separation of church and state prohibits the teaching of Creationism in our schools. However, does Intelligent Design solely denote Creationism? Intelligent Design as illustrated in 'The Twenty- Fourth Chromosome' supports the theory that indeed an intelligent mind was responsible for the origins of the species; however, this so-called Supreme Being was not necessarily the God depicted in the Christian Bible. Our creator was definitely of superior intelligence and was likely to have been a group as opposed to a single figure. What if a group of highly evolved scientists, over a great span of time, conceived of a method of cloning human DNA? Now doesn't that sound a lot more rational than the biblical definition of Creationism? Animals have already been successfully cloned in the laboratory. When will some scientist take the leap and clone a human being? . . .If, in fact, that has not already occurred. Although Creationism is certainly a form of Intelligent Design, the very idea that Intelligent Design is specifically Creationism is without foundation. Creationism is a superstitious fairy tale, whereas Intelligent Design is reality.
