Who Killed Barbie?
After the murder of a young woman, a Scotland Yard detective is drawn into the dark world of a new music cult where it seems anything goes. He tries not to become a part of it as he proceeds to investigate, identifying quite early on a prime suspect. Yet there is no link suggesting he is the killer, and the detective cannot make a conviction based on the man's hatred for women alone. Seeking further evidence we discover more of the unfortunate woman's past, how she became a groupie to an outlandish American rock band, then a heroin junkie, finally ending up a prostitute on the streets of London, dying in a seedy hotel room in the summer of 1978. Is this why his boss was so reluctant to waste more time and effort on her, all because of the type of woman she was? Not only does the detective become more resolved to solve the case, he is also determined to overcome the prejudices of his colleagues and nail the killer. If only he could find him!
Many years later the detective receives an anonymous tip-off. There is no name attached to the important document that comes his way, but he is now more convinced he was right all along, and what should have been a straight forward murder inquiry was fraught with difficulties due to lack of interest from everyone involved. Nobody seemed to care—except him.
