Broken Bond

Why did I continue in such a destructive marriage for so long? Proverbs 12:12 says that hope deferred makes the heart sick. I had lived in an oppressive marriage for so long that it eventually, simply made my heart sick. Fear and manipulation guided my every step. There were a multitude of reasons that kept me in the deep, dark pit where I had learned to be comfortable; reasons that those on the outside cannot know. But the day finally came when I took a giant leap in faith to move away from the dark. Each step seemed as hard as the first, until God continued over and over saying…this is the way, walk here.
