The Almost Ghosts
When a curious young boy called Al and his bossy sister Es find themselves mysteriously drawn into the realm of the spirits, the strange and frightening experience affects the two children very differently. While Al wants to learn everything he can about their new ghostly form of existence, his sister cannot accept that they are lost to the living so easily and struggles to find out what really happened to them. The children's odd but otherworldly-gifted cousin Anna offers her own knowledge of ghostly experiences, but Es doesn't trust her and looks for her own answers. As the danger of their situation becomes clear and a permanent separation from the living world looms before them, young Al faces impossible decisions that ultimately will lead him on a very different path from the rest of his family. The realm of the spirits contains as much trickery, cruelty, and ambition as that of the living world, but it also contains kindness and friendship, along with the unlikely opportunity for an often overlooked and bullied young boy to shine with a powerful light of his own.
