Hope Row Sketchbook: Color Your Story Onto Mine, Inc., Is Dedicated to Those on Death Row Who Have Had Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) but Were ... Resulting in Trauma Ongoing Into Adulthood.
Violet Newborn Ministries exists to support families and children affected by Adverse Childhood Experiences(ACEs) participating in trauma-informed programs. Our founder and its members understand how negative consequences of ACEs can be counteracted with support, care, and appropriate intervention. Our ministry provides commissioned artworks for mental health professionals to display in their facilities for décor, ice breakers and inspiration. We also publish journals and sketchbooks to use in individual & group settings as an additional coping skill prompting self-expression in a therapeutic setting. Our gallery exhibit consists of publishing a series called Color Your Story Onto Mine consisting of sketchbooks and journals to be used. Books created from survivors who can hear the familiar voice of a child no one came for. We exhibit clients artwork as our book covers allowing each book to connect our voices through healing. No one should be exempt from being seen, heard and acknowledged. Which is why we also publish journals and sketchbooks in our Hope Row Chronicles featuring artwork & writings from people serving life & living on death row, a platform to show their work, and to raise awareness of the importance of trauma informed care & support.
Dedicated to those who have had Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) but were ignored and shamed into secrecy resulting in trauma ongoing into adulthood. Among the executed inmates, we found evidence that 39.7 percent were abused during childhood. The CDC and independent researchers have repeatedly found that childhood trauma's long-term effects include higher likelihoods of disrupted neurodevelopment, cognitive impairment, mental illness, and becoming the perpetrator or victim of violence. What can we do to break the cycle perhaps take accountability for being the ones who started it in the first place.
