Of Scythe and River

Of Scythe and River by G. A. Stevens

Death follows Charon like a shadow.

His parents. His best friend. A teacher, a neighbor—gone, one by one. Seventeen-year-old Charon has spent his life haunted by grief and convinced he’s cursed.

But in Gloamhaven, a town wrapped in fog and silence, curses often come with purpose.

Drawn to a forgotten cemetery, Charon discovers a chamber hidden beneath a mausoleum—and a scythe waiting in the dark. Cold. Ancient. Meant for him.

The deaths weren’t random. The river isn’t just water. And Charon isn’t cursed—he’s becoming the Ferryman, heir to a myth older than memory, bound to guide the dead across a rising river.

Now the veil is thinning, the lost are whispering, and something old is waking beneath the surface.

Some stories are more than legend. Some destinies are carved in shadow.
