How It Ended

Allan Clark Morgan

An account of how the Cold War started and then continued for over four decades as seen through the eyes of the people in the midst of the action. The never ending search for the effective defensive counter measure starts with the Western Allies trying to cope with the first Nazi 'smart Bomb'. Decades later the West is trying to develop a defense against ICBMs while thwarting Soviet efforts to do the same thing. There are numerous murderous operations carried out by the espionage and intelligence services of both sides often employing their surrogates. On rare occasions these operations have become known, at least in part, to the public but most remain secret to this day.
