The Host
The Awakening of the Host(Reflections of the Host)When I opened my eyes and the world entered me, it was not possible to understand so much light, so much aroma, so much noise, so many sensations on my skin, and so many emotions. Emotions touched deep in my being and I, even without knowing what it was, felt alive and satisfied with these feelings. It would be stupid to explain what I felt now, but it's not hard to understand what I've become. At that moment I was born not to the world, but to myself, and I thought the world belonged to me. Darkness no longer enfolded me and will never enfold me again. The mere prospect of death will never touch me again as it had always done. I had been immersed in it for hundreds, thousands, maybe millions of years. At that moment I just needed to forget that I had once deeply loved the darkness that had always possessed me. I know it's hard to part with such a long love, but time in its supreme wisdom knows how to do its job well. Sitting on the floor with my arms hugging the body that I had but didn't belong to, I loved the warmth and the wonderful feeling of seeing that life transforms us into something so much bigger. And sitting there, loving myself, I wondered how I could now reach the horizon that called me at all times. I think that day was so important to the universe that it must have painted a picture with shades of red before the sun settled on its resting bed.
