The Cabin

Nelson Foley

The kids were going exploring this week during their stay at Uncle Remy's and Aunt Annie's farm. They were going to the far end of the field to enter the woods and work their way to the foot of the mountain about two miles away. They were packed with provisions for the day trip and with the cameras fully charged, they planned to capture pictures of whatever they could find. They started out in the direction of the mountain. Uncle Remy had told them that there was a path behind the old hunting cabin about a half mile into the woods. It was built almost 100 years ago and was abandoned. It was most likely unsafe so they were warned to stay away. But when they got there they discovered the cabin was being lived in. It appeared there were two kids and an adult and when the kids saw there was very little food, hardly any clothes, They thought they'd head back early and let Aunt Annie know about what they had discovered. She took the kids shopping that night and the next day told them they should bring the food and other things back. When they returned they discovered two little girls, Betty and Anna and a deathly ill mother. Find out the amazing conclusion of THE CABIN!
