Sunflowers Grow in Brooklyn

The story takes place in Brooklyn, New York. A young girl named Izzi sets out to grow sunflowers. Along the way, she faces challenges finding the tools she needs. Her family and community steps in, offering encouragement, confidence, possibilities, wisdom, and so much more. As Izzi grows, so does her understanding. Each lesson she receives inspires, encourages, and empowers her to plant seeds not just for herself, but for others as well. She eventually becomes a teacher and gives back in a big way. Izzi learns that sunflowers can grow in Brooklyn-and that they can grow, bloom and blossom everywhere.
