A Second Look: Encountering the True Jesus

What do the magi, a rich kid, a short tax collector, a thirsty woman from Samaria, a boy with some bread and fish, a burly fisherman, and a Jewish official, have in common with YOU?

An encounter with Jesus.

In A Second Look, you'll be fascinated, amused, and challenged as you get to know ten characters from Scripture, from all walks of life, and learn about their encounter with Jesus, including stories like:

Three wise guys and a baby - the magis' encounter with Wisdom incarnate -- and in diapersA woman, a well, and a wish - the Samaritan woman's encounter with Christ, the living waterHook, line, and "stinker" - Peter's encounter with Jesus calling him to his true vocationJesus and the lunch rush - "Eddie" who shares his loaves and fish - and finds his gifts magnifiedScaling the sycamore - Zacchaeus' tree-top encounter with Jesus that affirmed his worthAnd five more...

Each chapter invites you to take "A Step Beyond" - with thought-provoking questions and challenges to dig deeper into the themes. Great for individual study, but also perfect for groups.

Mark Hart brings each of these stories into vivid focus through Scripture, the saints, and his own real-life reflections, and asks us, "Are you willing to take a second look at the Jesus you currently know and allow Him to speak into your life in exciting and daunting new ways?"
