Jamback Road A Novel

God made Jamback Road. The Indians used it first, I guess, wandering down from the hunting trails to find the creek coming off Greenhazel Mountain. I often wondered if the trees were that deep back then, trees so full of themselves their branches nearly touched the ground. The heavy spring rains must've dug the road out of a clearing, flooding off a rise and heaving the bare earth in its wake. That's how we found it that autumn as we moved onto rented property again, filling one of the two houses that fronted Jamback.
