**Love and Other Puzzles is an updated version of the previously published book, A House Made of Bricks**

Eliza

Make it through detention.

Seemed like such a simple task. 1. Figure out how to get there. 2. Ignore the jerks I had to share my Saturday with. 3. Figure out how to get home. 4. Don't let my mom find out. Like ever.

I almost made it too... right up until the end when I threw up in a trash can. And, of course, later -when I got stuck in the parking lot. At least no one was there to see it.

Or so I thought.

Little did I know, it was just the beginning.

Miller

Stay under the radar.

Take care of your own problems, let other people take care of theirs.

As long as I kept to myself, no one asked questions.

That's how I liked it.

Little did I know that Eliza Sullivan, the shy girl from calculus, would be the one to flip it all on its head.

Eliza

Miller Cassidy. Brooding blue eyes. Adorable smirk. Definitely hiding something.

But, as it turned out, totally worth it.

One chance encounter led to another, until we'd become part of each other's lives.

If only he'd let me in.

Miller

Eliza Sullivan.I'd never trusted anyone before she came along. But that all changed the day Eliza swept into detention, and my life, with her sweet smile, quiet strength and love of riddles.

But my life had been like a house of straw. One huff and puff from the wrong person, and it would all come crashing down.

Now I was going to let someone in.

Eliza

He asked me why I love puzzles, and I told him they're one of the few things in life that always has an answer.

Miller

She said we were a puzzle she just hadn't figured out yet. I told her love is the one puzzle no one's figured out.

We became each other's answer.

Eliza

But the question was, how far was I willing to go to protect him?

Miller
