Requiem for the Misbegotten
"Geary's exploration of evil in a former American president is extraordinary. I know of no other contemporary writer who could have written Requiem." - Francoise Durer REQUIEM FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN: 2020 NEW YEARS EDITION contains the same text as previous editions but has a different cover. In it, a former American Southern president is found dead in front of his office building in New York. He is naked and the word "rapist" is written in lipstick on his forehead. New York's foremost detective, Jimmy Croft, is assigned to the case by the mayor. Croft's investigation takes him to Hollywood, New Orleans, London, Oxford, and Paris. Contrary to popular belief, there are some perfect crimes. After hundreds of man-hours, Croft comes to believe the murder of the ex-president may be one of them.
