My Not Chosen Adventure: A Medical Mystery and Love Story

My wise friend says: “Community building is the best disaster preparedness any of us can do.” So, so true.

When I got diagnosed with a late stage four mysterious cancer, I promised myself I would share my journey full-on, with vulnerability, directness, and humor.

From March to October 2024, I wrote to my people daily. This became my purpose, my grounding, and my connection to community.

I believe it is one of the reasons I am still alive.

I want to embolden all who face life’s great challenges to let go of shame and to share freely. Talking openly about cancer, disability, and death is scary. But, the community that comes from open sharing can quite literally save a person’s life.

This book is a front row seat to my cancer journey: the hard parts, the beautiful parts, and most importantly, the love.
