The Judge's House: A Gothic Horror Tale of Isolation and a Vengeful Spirit (Library of Alexandria)

What if the silence of an empty house was the voice of something that never left?

In this gripping gothic horror tale by Bram Stoker, author of Dracula, a young scholar rents an isolated old mansion to prepare for his final exams. But what begins as a rational pursuit of peace quickly descends into supernatural terror.

The house-abandoned for decades and steeped in sinister legend-once belonged to a merciless judge infamous for his cruelty. Though the town fears the place, the student scoffs at superstition. That is, until each night becomes more unsettling, each shadow more watchful, and a malevolent presence makes itself known.

This modern translation revives Stoker's eerie masterpiece for today's audience with clarity and force, preserving the atmosphere, suspense, and psychological horror that made it a classic.
