Penpals
Penpals is a poem about a child who is writing a letter to their friend. In the poem, we learn that the child recently moved and they are hoping that their friend will come visit them someday soon. They hope to play outside, inside, and watch the stars when it gets dark. Featuring simple illustrations and an easy to read story, Penpals is the perfect book to address big feelings that young children or other people might feel when they have transitioned to a new place in life or are at a place of new beginnings. Made with a matte cover and smooth line drawings on crisp, white paper, this book can be used as a coloring book, social story, or social emotional teaching tool for anyone ages preschool through adulthood.
Key concepts: big feelings, homesickness, growing up, new beginnings, transitions, friendships, relationships, love.
