Winter Solstice is upon Emerald, and it's being covered by national news crews as it officially becomes a city, not merely a college town. Amy's been given a sweet piece to cover, the Emerald News byline on the historic celebration of Emerald officially being a city. She's enjoying a break from her college courses-which were heavy while grappling with her lycan transformation. Now, Amy thinks she's finally getting things under control; she's even training intensely with her lycan ancestor, the queen of the wolf, Macha. When Amy's older sister arrives, she's concerned about her blowing off her birthday, Thanksgiving, and now Christmas/Winter Solstice in New York with her mortal family. Emerald is a shit show of immortal shenanigans and hijinks, as human news crews are focused on the burgeoning new city recently approved by the local and state government of Michigan. Amy is quickly running out of excuses for the odd happenings, the even stranger parade of men courting her, and her constant need to hook up in the most unsubtle ways her sister could imagine.
