Beasts of the Border
Long before there were North, Central and South America, the only borders were jungles, rivers and mountain ranges. Humans and animals migrated or dispersed regularly, following food, seeking more temperate weather and searching for mates.
Beasts of the Border is a tale of two very different types of migrants, whose instinctual drive is to travel north to seek better lives.
The Lopez family is fleeing political persecution in their home country of Nicaragua. Along the ‘migrant trail’ they encounter unimaginable obstacles and hardships.
Solitario, a male jaguar, is also journeying northward. His goal is to find a mate and reestablish a homeland north of the U.S. border, where his kind historically dwelled.
In the borderlands, they find both allies and antagonists. Border agents, biologists, ranchers and drug runners; all are drawn to the interminable metal wall, where the question becomes who is predator and who is prey?
