A Fighting Chance
The past was no friend, but it taught him how to fight.
After spending his youth in the child welfare system, 34-year-old Mixed Martial Artist Jett Slade has little to show for his bruises inside the cage. Despite minor success, the sport he loves is beginning to look at him in the rear-view mirror. Jett’s life abruptly changes when he encounters a criminal act on local musician Jamie Meadows. This unlikely meeting introduces Jett to Jamie’s wife Melody and their two friends Tiffany and Ally. With Ally he sees something special, but does he have the courage to act on it? Or is he afraid of an uncertain future based on a tumultuous past?
With a career winding down, suddenly a unique opportunity presents itself from a very unlikely source. The fight game has always been simpler than life for Jett and while he’s never been afraid of a sacrifice, it’s Ally who must make the biggest one with every reason not to.
A Fighting Chance is a story of a search for a place in the world, found in the places where you least want to look. It’s for those who refuse to give up and dare to do something greater than those around them ever thought they could or should be capable of.
