Grace Nightshade has always felt like she was different. That was until she was eleven years old, when her neighbor, Abigail Avocet, tells her she is a witch. Grace and Jack, a six month old talking cat, are enrolled into the local witch school to receive an education. After a few months, mysterious things start happening around the school. After a prodigium, a large monstrous creature, attacks another school, the mystery only deepens. How does the attack fit into the other mysteries going on around the school, and will Grace's abilities be able to protect herself and her friends during a sudden change in the magical world?
