Anton is a handsome, talented geologist who works at the Belgian Institute of Geology but seems forever doomed to attract the wrong kind of woman. Gael is stuck in a dead-end job and the fiancee of a man she doesn't love. Both are dreamers - they meet and fall in love, of course, but in the world - in the form of the wily, embittered Pauline - quickly tears them apart again.
