Adrian Blake just knows things, which for a time made him one of the FBI's most successful investigators. Some might call him psychic, but whatever his power is, it couldn't prevent the tragedy that changed his life forever. When his mother passes away unexpectedly several years later, Adrian's life is upended when he learns that he has inherited a silver mine. Researching the mine and how it came to belong to his mother reveals an ancestor he hadn't known existed - the enigmatic Bertram Fields. Who exactly was he? When Adrian travels to the small town of Boot Mesa, Arizona to find out, he discovers that strange and terrible things have been happening there for many years. Was his family somehow involved in the mysterious deaths and disappearances? Adrian, with the help of park ranger Mandy Moretti and his old FBI colleague Pete Sparks, will soon find the answers to his questions - and they are far from what he expected.
