For the Troops
Audio-CD format. 3-CD set, 3 hours. During World War II, Bob Hope wasn't the only one entertaining our troops both here and abroad. Each week the Armed Forces Radio presented programs to lift soldiers' spirits. Here are some very gifted entertainers doing their all for the war effort. These programs were first broadcast from June 1942 to June 1944. We have Amos and Andy, the Benny Goodman Orchestra, Miss Gypsy Rose Lee, Laurel and Hardy, Judy Garland, Hope and Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Lena Horne, and Mr. Roy Rogers.
