The Unclaimed

John Carroll

The Unclaimed is the story of two brothers who follow the wishes of their deceased father and head west - to claim gold in the hills of an old Spanish settlement. During their desperate trek through the American wilderness, they learn of a tyrant. An unlikely leader, born from the ashes of the antebellum, who has resettled the town despite being surrounded by savage plainsmen. At their arrival, the brothers discover the isolated town is now shattered by a failed covenant and the settlers prepare for extermination.

Yet there is hope.

These brothers have been marked, their passage uniquely tolerated by the merciless tribes. And as the town clamors, heaping any chance of salvation on the siblings, the confederate oppressor, only known as Hobbs, watches and waits - sowing the seeds of resurgence, as the path of their father is brought to reckoning. But not all is as it seems, for other forces have been awakened to this primal land, beckoned forth for a chance to lay claim, for a chance at redemption and a chance to flourish.
