I was so excited that the author reached out and asked me to read ( the sequel to this book ) but I couldn’t until I read this one.. and I’m so glad I did, because I would’ve missed out on a Fun, Gory, Action pact adventure of people trying to survive a zombie outbreak. Johnny Silverman is the local policeman who is held up and barricaded at the police station with a support officer, a woman named Summer, the local drunk Lester. Jack Nation, a farmer and his son Griffin, make taking advantages of the towns situation. Making a somewhat of a compound by building a fence to keep the dead out. They try and take control away from Johnny as an authority figure. Jack is ruthless, Griffin is depraved. And the locals are fearful but compliant with Jack. Johnny feels helpless. Will Johnny, Summer and the others survive the terrible Zombie Apocalypse while also trying to survive Jacks authority. And there’s a reveal that’s surprised and shocked me. The story was great. It has me really wanting to read the sequel ( which can be read as a stand alone according to the author )
