Two by Two by Two
Three fast-paced and humorous plays of middle-aged couples navigating retirement, the Internet, and the folly of two sets of twins meeting by chance! "Free at Last" A tale of a middle-aged couple who retired from their jobs soon enough to have a hereafter...from work, that is! But individually both have different ideas of what they want to do with their time, something that brings frustration and stress to the man and wife but recognition of real-life situations that provide comedy for the observer, whether reader or audience member. "Double Trouble" What happens when two sets of identical twins come together by chance? It's a question that's intrigued playwrights and audiences since the ancient Greeks and Romans as well as Elizabethan witnesses of Shakespeare's comedies. This comedy humbly follows the risible concept. "Chat Room" The age of the Internet and the many social possibilities for strangers to meet is examined as two people seek to overcome their loneliness through anonymous chat room part of the Internet. Their initial untruths to each other provide a situation that can only be solved by confessions of affection. Martin P. Kelly is producing artistic director for the Bridge Theater in Whitehall, NY, and producer of the Riverview Entertainment Productions Company.
