Brown Eyes and Brown Bear: Restored Classics to Go Edition

In the Alaskan wilderness, Dave Sloan has built a reputation on exaggerated tales of bear hunting, and only his partner Sam knows how little truth lies behind them. Dave's biggest deception is the story that won the admiration of Mary Hanna, the schoolteacher he hopes to marry, and when Sam decides to confess the truth to her, Mary is left disappointed but unconvinced that Dave is entirely a fraud. Cornered by his own legend, Dave is pushed to prove himself when Mary tactfully asks for a bear rug the exact color of her brown eyes—a request that, to Dave, means bringing home the most dangerous prize of all: a brown bear. Eager to win back her faith, Dave sets out with a reluctant Sam into the harsh northern wilds, where warnings from seasoned trappers only deepen the tension. As the night closes in, Dave wrestles with fear, pride, and the burden of his invented bravado. Then a hungry young bear wanders into camp, and the resulting struggle turns comic, chaotic, and dangerous. When the smoke clears, Dave is battered and humbled, and the adventure teaches him that real courage is far different from boastful storytelling.
