Ward The Beginning
Ward is the story of five women. Birthed in the gloomy halls of a Maternity ward; travelling out into each woman's everyday life; and culminating into a story of pain, passion and power. Ward is set in the rural communities of Westmoreland and depicts the various scenarios of the everyday lives of ordinary Jamaican women. In an Island sold as sand, sun and sea and a part of the Caribbean dream, Ward becomes an outlet to the long silence on the issue of single women raising the next generation and the rigors of surviving after abuse. Women coming in contact with each other and their truths; truths with the power to break them... or make them heroes in a war where children are weapons as well as salvation.
