The Darkness Within

Detective Lexie Garner had already lost her father to this job and her sanity could be next. She's driven into the forests of the Pacific Northwest to investigate the murder of a man who belonged to the notorious Avenida cartel. The name strikes a chord-It is the same cartel responsible for murdering her father. Lexie sees this as a chance to bring the cartel down and to avenge her father's death, but the dead body of a low-level runner is the least of her problems. There's someone, or something, in the woods that doesn't want to be found.

Lexie and her partner, Jacobs, are dragged into the cartel's deal in the middle of the forest, when an unexpected guest breaks up the party. The snow traps them on the mountain with a murderer, but when the hunt begins, she discovers there is more than one killer in the forest with them.
