Inigo Mort

3 1 rating · 1 review on Book Nook

It wants to take your pain away… permanently.

For four friends, a remote cabin in the wilderness is the perfect escape—a chance to celebrate the runaway success of their art business, Totem. But for Drew, this trip isn’t just about unwinding. He has confessions to make—about love, loyalty, and a future he’s been hiding.

He isn’t the only one keeping secrets.

When they discover a sinister painting and uncover the cabin’s dark history, Drew realises everything is not what it seems. Someone is out there. Watching. Waiting.

The Artist has chosen its next masterpiece.

As lies unravel and paranoia sets in, survival means more than escaping the nightmare—it means facing the truth… before The Artist finishes its work.

Will their secrets tear them apart before The Artist does? One thing’s for sure - you don’t want to end up on his canvas.

A mind-bending horror novella from debut author Inigo Mort.

★★★☆☆

Inigo is one of my inspirations for my very first talking book review videos on TikTok. When he announced that he wrote this book, I was soo happy for him and excited to read it. The story read more like a more mature Are You Afraid of the Dark story meets Unsolved Mysteries.for me. The concept, imagination and creativity the author put into this is there!! With edits.. This book would make a great B-rated movie. Now for the hard part.. I really enjoyed the storyline, I had to listen (to this book more than once because some of it didn’t flow for me and I felt that maybe I missed something. I second guessed myself with what was going on. I got a little lost because things would abruptly start and then move on to something else. During some of it, I wasn’t sure if The Artist was ghost or monster. I wanted to know more about each character. You don’t get to know enough about Gray and you don’t really get to know him through out the story. - All in all I really did enjoy the story. I’m glad I gave it a chance. For a debut book, good job for putting something worth reading out there. I was not disappointed and I’m glad I gave it a second and third read. So I give this a 3.75/5.
