The Labyrinth of Shadows - The Riftborn Awakening (Book 1 of the Labyrinth of Shadows Series)

Some say that fate is linear, but in fact, it is a maze filled with shadows with a multitude of choices and bravery to face the dark within oneself. For centuries, two separate worlds have existed: that of humans and that of magic. When the great war ruptured the balance, the Keepers of the Rift sealed the other world, hiding all power under deep soil. Ashgrove became a town built upon the forgotten magic, turned silent and once boisterous with its dark history that is hardly more than myth now. Yet, ancient forces stir again. Evelyn Blackwood, a detective who involves herself in tracking shadows, has never considered becoming a hero. Until, a mysterious invitation pulls her away into Ravenwood Manor, and a world she never knew of opens up before her-where magic still lingers. Knowing that she's the last of the Riftborn, Evelyn must face her destiny as secrets unfold that may alter the fate of both worlds. The Labyrinth of Shadows awaits. But within its depths something primordial and mighty has been waiting for Evelyn- and it will spare no effort in claiming her. Join in on the battle of fate, magic, and peril entangled into reality's struggle in a fantastic dark fantasy.
