Milk, Milk, Lemonade
I suggest before you read this vintage story that you locate an oldies radio Station. Close your eyes and listen carefully. Can you hear the sound of a clothes-pinned playing card flapping on the spokes of your Schwinn bicycle as you ride down the middle of your neighborhood street? Or can you hear the sound of a 4S record dropping from a stack onto your record player? What about children's voices chanting, Fatty, fatty, two-by-four, tattle tale, tattle tale, or milk, milk, lemonade? Consider yourself lucky if you do because you'll probably get it-the 60's! Get acquainted with the twelve year old main character Margaret Rae Moran, better known as Raisin to her best friends: Raimey Anne whose parents were former beatniks, Pippi the tomboy who has three obnoxious brothers, the cute new girl everyone wants to be - Cricket Carr, and Cindy - Raisin's imaginary friend. There is also the spoiled girl everyone loves to hate - Rebecca Sue Cohen. They all reside in Atlanta, Georgia on a street known as Ivy Way. This is a story to be read not only by you, but by your daughter, and your granddaughter!
