In 1999, on New Year's Eve the world is on edge because of the impending Y2K threat. A 15-year-old boy named Jake Jankowski and his friend Dom Davis couldn't be any less worried. They stay up playing a new dungeon crawler game where the goal is to make it to the center of a labyrinth, battle a boss dragon, and rescue a princess. When the clock strikes midnight, however, their world is turned upside down...
