The Ominous Trail

Diamonds disappear. No alarms. No witnesses. No trace.

Sean Kruger left the FBI, but the cases won't leave him. A Chicago museum's diamond collection vanishes overnight--$150 million gone like smoke. Private contractors want Kruger's instincts. Tech genius J.R. Diminski wants justice. The police want answers.

The heist leads to blood. Each clue reveals a pattern beyond stealing gems. Someone plays a longer game. They collect more than diamonds--they harvest power. Bodies mark their path to the top.

Kruger chases a shadow who turns wealth into weapons. A psychopath who sees human life as currency. The killer collects billionaires like trophies, building an empire on broken bones.

The Ominous Trail, the eighth Sean Kruger thriller by J.C. Fields, forces Kruger into a deadly maze where money means murder, and greed wears a golden mask. Some treasures come with a body count. _________________________________
