Baccalaureate Chemistry
Baccalaureate chemistry is a program of study based on two premises. Learning is best achieved through repeated practice; an idea or concept met on a single occasion is unlikely to have a lasting effect. Over a period of a high school chemistry course students develop intellectually. Unlike many texts, Baccalaureate Chemistry treats concepts, such as bonding theory, periodicity, thermodynamics and kinetics as threads which are developed, with increasing complexity, throughout the program of study. Environmental systems, biochemistry, industry, physiology and pharmacology present a broad canvas for students to explore and use the concepts and ideas they encounter.
